Sonic Mania is a true callback to the original quadrilogy of Sonic games on the Genesis, and far surpasses them in both quality and gameplay itself. The game feels like it picks up where Sonic and Knuckles left off, with nothing but quality of life improvements everywhere as far as gameplay goes. The level design is a true work of beauty, as is the soundtrack. Sonic Mania is one of the only games in the past decade that has lived up to its hype and is definitely worth playing.
